DPEC Meetings

The meetings of DPEC are held monthly.

Resource Mobilization

The process of writing a proposal to CRAIDS was in progress. In the meanwhile they have written to Barclays Bank who has promised them some resources.

Another proposal was written to a local businessman in the area who has connections outside Zambia.

Rental and Volunteer Allowances

They have written to the landlord to hold-on while they continue with resource mobilization. This has been understood. Allowances are owed from February 2005. One Volunteer left and was replaced.

Advocacy

This has not been possible without resources though a number of partners’ meetings are being held to try and fund raise.

Kaunda’s visit to KAICO (Kazungula Interfaith Care Organization)

The first Republican President’s Son Dr. Waza Kaunda visited KAICO and made promises on the following:

ü      Support to PLWAS after testing.

ü      Training of FBO leaders in the handling of ARVs.

ü      Support to OVCs
